Graduate Researchers
Arian Baquero Arian is a fifth-year graduate student (PhD) who is currently using a multidisciplinary approach to examine how molecular alterations in the gustatory system may alter the body's ability to sense nutrients.
Bhavik Shah Bhavik is a fifth-year graduate student (PhD) who is working on nutrient-sensitive pathways in post-ingestive organs using patch clamp recording. Future plans are to use nanoparticle technology to develop methods to target specific molecules to the organs involved in the control of appetite.
Pin (Cherry) Liu Cherry is a fourth-year PhD student who is working on the fat transduction pathway in mammalian taste cells.
Tian Yu Tian is a fourth-year PhD student who is working on the identification and characterization of fatty acid-activated G protein-coupled receptors involved int eh taste and texture perception of dietary fat.
Han Xu Han is a second year PhD student working on the transduction of cooling compounds in the trigeminal system and the role of CD 36 in fatty acid taste transduction.
Hala Hadawar Hala is the latest graduate student addition to the Gilbertson lab.
