Utah Connections

When USTAR looked at areas of research expertise within the state, its attention focused on Utah State University's predominance for nutrition research.  That existing expertise, combined with the proven leadership of Dr. David York, set the foundation for establishing the Center for Advanced Nutrition.  Although the Center has settled its roots and sprouted new branches, USTAR still lies at the core of our strength and growth.

In addition to the foresight of Utah's leaders in adopting the USTAR Initiative, the state provides other support, such as its Technology Business Page which provides helpful links and statistical information.

Much is also owed to the state's supportive and healthy business community which values and fosters technological growth.  This is evidenced by numerous venture capitalist groups, angel investors, and  organizations such as the Utah Technology Council.  The Council's interactive website,  siliconslopes.com, provides resources and a free database for technology companies, people, investors, and organizations associated with Utah.
